We are a family company founded over 30 years ago, now run by managing director, Matthew Thompson. We have a strong team of fully qualified plumbing and heating engineers, along with a team of trades that cover electrics, building, plastering, tiling, carpentry and decorating.
We work alongside a variety of building contractors in the area and around the country, priding ourselves on the relationships we have built over the years. Please read on to find out a little more about us.
Founded in 1987 by Michael & Adele Thompson, we started as a small domestic plumbing and heating firm, being run out of their home in Middle Barton. As the company and the family grew, we moved to a farm in Chipping Norton, capable of housing a separate office, stores and yard, which is where the company stayed until 2018.
With further desire to expand the company, we purchased an office unit in Long Hanborough, just next to the grounds of Blenheim. Following its much needed renovation, we now have a modern office capable of serving the company for years to come. Our office based team comprises of Matthew Thompson our MD, Chris Thompson, who runs the bathroom side of the company, Paul Mumford our contracts manager, Michael & Adele Thompson, Chris Hunt our office manager and Natalie Mullins (nee Thompson!) who runs our small works department.
As a family company built on reputation and word of mouth recommendations, it’s important to ensure our core values and standards remain the same in everything we do. We believe in excellence of workmanship, integrity, quality, communication and customer satisfaction. Our intended lack of extensive advertising means that reputation and a good name will always be vital to us. We always aim to train our staff in house and using specific apprenticeship schemes with Oxford Energy Academy in Witney, along with continued training and general company expectations.
We have a strong team of fully qualified, fully employed engineers and staff to ensure your work is being carried out competently, completely in house. The plumbing and heating industry is complex, varied and ever changing, meaning continued developments are essential to make sure all engineers are fully compliant, qualified and have the necessary skills to carry out their work. We take on new apprentices annually, which involves weekly college days over three years, where they become NVQ level 2 & 3 qualified, followed by the appropriate gas training, resulting in the relevant Gas Safe qualifications. We then give them the opportunity of becoming OFTEC certified for all oil installations and servicing. Several of our engineers we took on as apprentices and put through the apprenticeship scheme are still working with us.
Alongside our core workforce, we have a team of sub-contract trades to carry out all of our electrical, building, carpentry and additional tiling work. You can learn more about this in the ‘our company’ section of the bathroom website.
